As part of India@70, Consulate General of India, New York and Teamwork hosted a Reception on September 10, 2017 on the occasion of the 1st edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival at New York.

Earlier in the evening a session titled "Patriot Games: Contextualizing Nationalism" was held at MoMA.

The discussion explored nationalism around the world, and how it emerges alongside, and in contrast to, the transformations and disruptions brought about by globalization. Panelists Urvashi Butalia, Bouchra Khalili, Bruce Robbins, Eyal Weizman, and moderator Marie Brenner l addressed local manifestations of identitarian politics from a trans-historical perspective, as well as how art and culture might produce alternate visions of belonging and cohabitation.

The lecture was followed by a reception at the Consulate which was well attended by patrons of arts/ literatures. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjoy Roy, producer of Jaipur Literature Festival, spoke about the upcoming events that are scheduled in Colorado and how JLF is actively trying to popularize art and culture in USA. In her remarks, Deputy Consul General Mrs. Paramita Tripathi mentioned that this is a part of India@70 series and how we would like to see JLF become a regular event in the calendar of New York.
