Diwali at Times Square

Diwali, one of the biggest festival of Hindus, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness in India. The festival is celebrated for five continuous days, where the third day is celebrated as the main Diwali festival or 'Festival of lights'. The Consulate General of India, New York hosted a press conference to announce the launch of Diwali celebrations at Times Square, New York for the second successive year. Event Guru and ASB Communications are organizing what is going to be one of the biggest events at Times Square. Consul General Dnyneshwar M. Mulay announcing the launch of this exciting event called it a glimpse into one of India's largest festival.

Dr. Jagdish Patil, Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, the title sponsor of 'Diwali at Times Square' announced that MTDC will showcase Maharashtra's unique culture, cuisine, historical and natural heritage to the world at this year's event.

Neeta Bhasin, President and CEO of Event Guru and ASB Communications, briefing the media on the festivities, pointed out that Times Square - the center of the Universe - was the best place to proudly showcase out rich and varied heritage of India.

The festivities will begin at noon and will include a wide display of Indian food, dance, arts and crafts, fashion show, photo booths with ethnic outfits. The highlight of the event would be the   'Lighting up Times Square' Concert in the evening.
