The Consulate General of India, New York hosted a Reception at the Consulate to welcome the Erasing Borders Dance Festival to be organized in New York by the Indo-American Arts Council.Large number of members of the cultural community in the region, including prominent members of the Indian-American community and local dignitaries attended the reception.

Consul General of India in New York Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay extended his warm greetings and welcome to the dancers of the Festival. During his address, Ambassador Mulay emphasized the importance of the idea of ‘erasing borders’ in the Indian culture. He said the Indian tradition always promotes the philosophy of ‘vasudhaiva kutumbkam’ (whole world is one family) which transgresses all boundaries, national or otherwise. He commended Indo-American Arts Council for its efforts in ‘erasing borders’ through the artistic activities and wished all the success for the Dance Festival.
