The Tea Board's Buyer Seller Meet

As part of the exercise to promote the imports of high quality Indian tea to the United States, the Tea Board of India along with about 15 eminent Indian Tea exporters participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show between June 26-28, 2016 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York.

On the sidelines of this grand showing, the Consulate General of India, New York in association with the Tea Board of India organized a Buyer Seller Meet on June 27, 2016 at the Consulate premises. About 15 high profile Indian Tea exporters met with members of USA Tea Association and Specialty Tea Institute which included top importers of the finest teas from around the world and members of the media. About 100 people attended the event.

Tea Board officials welcomed the elite gathering and presented a film and slide show on the renowned Indian Teas to increase the awareness of the varieties available including Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, Dooars Terai, Sikkim, Masala Chai and other specialty teas including the geographical indication. The exporters then gave a brief introduction about their companies and products available for export and discussed with the importers.

The evening concluded with a networking session between the exporters and importers over dinner.
