Dr. M. M. Pallam Raju, Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development, visited Philadelphia and Boston from May 15-18, 2013.  In Philadelphia, he visited the Temple University and participated in the Temple University’s 126th Commencement Ceremony.  On May 15, he was conferred with its highest honour, Honoris Causa, the Doctor of Humane Letters.  On the evening of May 15, he delivered the Graduation Speech at his alma mater, the Fox School of Business at Temple University (Dr. Pallam Raju received his Masters in Business Administration from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, in 1985).

On May 17, Dr. Pallam Raju and the accompanying delegation had a fruitful interaction with President of Boston University, Robert Brown, as well as other senior faculty members of Boston University.  On the evening of May 17, Dr. Pallam Raju was also hosted by the BU President at a dinner in his honour, where he interacted with the Board Members and Trustees of Boston University.  The discussions foucussed on capacity building and creation of top universities of global standards in India, along with possible private Indian partners.  In his interaction at Temple University, Philadelphia, discussions were held on the possibility of creating an India Centre under the auspices of the Fox School of Business.
