Interactive Session with Members of the Indian Parliament

Consulate General of India, New York organized an interactive session with Members of the Parliament from India, namely, Mr. Suresh Kodikunnil, Mr. Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Mr. A. P. Jithender Reddy, Mr.  T. K. S. Elangova, Mr. Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Mr. Anil Gulabrao Shirole, Mr. Raghav Lakhanpal, Dr. K. Kamaraj and Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh on October  27, 2017 at the Consulate. Consulate officials briefed the Hon’ble Members of Parliament on the various functions and activities of the Consulate and the measures being taken to implement Government of India Policies.

Eminent members of the Indian community also attended the event during which presentations and discussions were held on topics relating to tourism, arts and culture, consular services and other matters concerning the Indian community in USA. A brief Q&A session followed the discussion in which several ideas on leveraging the strength of the diaspora for India’s development emerged.
