The Consulate General of India, New York organized ‘International Food Festival’ in association with the Society of Foreign Consuls at the Consulate on Thursday, May 30, 2013. This was the first event of its kind.

Besides CGI, New York based Consulates of Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Philippine, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland and Uzbekistan and the Office of the Foreign Missions in New York of the US Department of State participated in the Food Festival by putting up stalls of their national cuisine.

Consul General Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay welcomed the participants and the guests and thanked the Society of Foreign Consuls for taking the initiative. The President of the Society of Foreign Consuls Mr. Lennox Price, Consul General of Barbados, Mr. Thomas Gallo, Director of Office of the Foreign Missions in New York of the US Department of State and Coordinator of the Festival Ms. Raushan Yesbulatova, Consul General of Kazakhstan also spoke on the occasion.

The Festival also featured cultural performances by various artists from US, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and Uzbekistan. The Festival was culminated by Odissi Dance performance by an Indian artist. The Festival was attended by large number of members of the diplomatic community.
