REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION

for

Setting up Diesel Locomotive Factory at Marhowra,

Saran District, Bihar (INDIA)

and

Procurement and Maintenance of Mainline Diesel Electric Locomotives

Global RFQ NO.2013/M(W)/964/33

• The Ministry of Railways (“MoR”), Government of India plans to enable setting up of a Diesel Locomotive Factory at Marhowra, Bihar(INDIA) for production and supply of Mainline Diesel Electric Locomotives, on the basis of a procurement and maintenance contract.

• The Supplier shall be selected through open competitive bidding to undertake the work of setting up of the Diesel Locomotive Factory at Marhowra, Bihar to supply 1000 Diesel Locomotives 4500/6000 horse power over a period of 11 years and undertake maintenance of a specified number of Mainline Diesel Electric Locomotives for a specified period under and in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement. MoR intends to pre-qualify and short-list suitable Applicants in accordance with the procedure set out in the Request for Qualification (RFQ) document.

• The President of India, acting through Director, Mechanical Engineering (Works), Railway Board invites applications for this purpose from interested parties.

• The RFQ will be available for download on the website (www.indianrailways.gov.in ) from 06.05.2013. The RFQ document may also be obtained from Room No.312A, Rail Bhawan, New Delhi from 07.05.2013 on all working days on payment of ₹ 100,000 (Rupees one lakh only) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn on any Scheduled Bank in India, and payable at Delhi, in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, Railway Board.

• The Applications on prescribed form of RFQ should be submitted at the place described in the RFQ document on or before 1100 hrs of 20.06.2013. Applications will be opened at 1130 hrs on 20.06.2013.
